Levels of care are a guide to the progression in care. As the body responds to network adjustments it will start moving and waving. This motion progresses from larger movements in one part of the spine to smaller more co-ordinated movements throughout the spine . Centres where this motion originates are called spinal oscillators. Each level has been associated with awareness of physical and mental states.

|
In level ONE large spinal movements dissipate tension within the large muscle groups around the spine. This ossillation can start in the neck or the pelvis. This tension dissipation is the basis or foundation for the other levels of care. Level One is often accompanied by a sense of deep relaxation. |

Level TWO involves a second spinal oscillator beginning, usually at the opposite end of the spine to the first. This dissipates the tension from between each pair of adjacent vertebrae. As level two progresses these two oscillators become 'entrained', that is move with a synchonised motion, timing and amplitude. This level is often associated with a profound inner peace, comfort and vitality in the body. |

In Level THREE a third oscillator develops in the chest area. This level is often associated with a profound sense of connectedness to ones inner feelings and to other human beings |

Progression from being able to resolve tensions that build up day to day in level one to where the mechanism (waves) is able to gradually resolve tensions stored deeper within the spine in level two. Often the release of these deeper tensions is associated with memories of stressful events from the past. This process of memories arising as tension is released is called retracing. |
